125 Mixed Cichlid Tank


This tank has now been up almost two years at my office. It is not my ideal setup with the few south american fish and Malawi cichlids, as I usually strive for purity in setups however, these fish needed a home and they get along at this point.

Tank Parameters:

Size: 90 gallon tall All Glass
Filtration: 1 Emperor 400 and 1 Fluval FX5 Canister
Heater: Ebu Jager 300w
Substrate:gravel and crushed shells
Temperature: 76-78
Feeding Spirulina flake as main staple,

Inhabitants:


  • 7 frontosa - got as 1" fry, now largest at 7"
  • 2 Altolamprologus calvus "Chaitika White" F1, size 2 & 2.5"
  • 3 Altolamprologus calvus "Black" - F1, now at 5-6"
  • 1 large Pleco 9"
  • 7 Lamprologus multifasciatus F1 with several spawns of fry
  • 2 Labidochromis caeruleus - spawning behavior, no witnessed fry 4.5"
  • 3 Peacocks 1 male, 2 female breeding/spawning (I hate not knowing types, never did keep these and someone gave them to us)
  • 1 Clown Loach
  • 1 Rainbow fish
