Fish
  • 1 Scooter Blenny "Scooter"
  • 2 Hippocampus erectus male and female, born April 22, 2005 siblings Max & Rita.., and 2 other males (Fleck, Spike) and female (Crystal) 2 months older

I am once again active keeping horses with captive bred Hippocampus erectus from Dan U from SeaHorseSource.com and Karen from her breedstock. The setup is a gulf backreef/lagoonal edge. some fake seagrass until the real stuff grows in more. The pair have bred, and got almost 100 babies, not ready for them, they seemed to feed on frozen brine/rots, but didnt grow, only lasted 7 days.
I now have a nursery setup ready for next batch. Got a supply of decapped brine shrimp eggs from Seahorse Source. The nursery is a 6 gallon eclipse drilled to 10 gallon sump with emperor 400 as filtration and 606 powerhead for return to tank giving fairly circular flow. It is fully cycled (used tank water and filter pads from seahorse tank).
I will be getting 2 males and 1 female from another source, Karen from Seahorse.org. They have arrived: Crystal (girl), Spike and Fleck

The horses are eating well and are acclimating to their new home. Max breeds and delivers ~150 babies every 6 weeks, but i do not have the time to raise at this time...
