My Soft Coral Reef
I decided to setup a tank to have some leathers and a few other corals. The tank is now fully stocked with coral, although may decide to add some other small inverts other than snail/hermits. I am thinking of adding a fish or 3 , but unsure so will wait.
Tank: 40 Gallon Corner Pentagon
Lighting:400 watt 10K MH
Sump:none
Live Rock: ~35 pounds in tank
Substrate: 2-3" DSB seeded with IPSF and others every 4-5 months to keep diverse and powerful filter
Skimmer: none currently
Water Flow: 2 emperor 400's on each backside and 900gph powerhead
Salt: Instant Ocean, salinity at 1.025
Water: RO/DI by AquaFx unit; 15 gallon weekly water changes
Parameters: Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate at 0; Calcium 350-450, Alkalinity at 9mg/L - not using calcium addition yet as holds steady with water changes, watching closely tho; Temp: 75-78
Backup: DPC battery backup - runs one emperor 400 for 8 hours if power fails, automatically.
Future: considering a small skimmer

- Anthlelia
- Capnella
- Clavularia sp.
- Favia
- Gorgonian- possibly Muricea sp see ID section
- Pocillopora - no room in main reef, plan to grow out some and ultimately frag
- Sarcophyton
- Xenia
Other Inverts:
- various snails/hermits/pods
